Tallapoosa Field Trial Club

Tallapoosa Field Trial Club held its 59th annual field trial on February 9th, 2019 at the farm of Marty and Linda Robinson. This has been the location of our annual trial for the last 14 years with new improvements each year that continue to provide for an incredible trial experience. We had a crowd of about 50 people including trial participants and spectators alike. The gallery wagon with eight bus seats was full at times as on-lookers enjoyed some very good performances by some amazingly talented birddogs. We welcome several new guest along with many who have attended and supported our trial for many years now. Our goal is simple; to host the best quality and most family friendly and enjoyable field trial experience in the country. I hope we are succeeding. We welcome anyone reading our report to come join us in the future and enjoy this great sport with us.

I would like to thank the sponsors of the National Bird Hunters Association and for their continued support which is so vital to the survival of the field trial sport. Purina Pro Plan, Garmin, Gun Dog Supply, Mule Brand clothing and Gun Dog Central. Thanks each of you for all your great products and for your support. Everyone who has ever put on a quality field trial knows it takes lots of planning and lots of execution. I don't have room in this report to individually thank everyone who makes our trial possible but each one is greatly appreciated. I am so blessed to have a family that supports me and supports our trial every year and who takes good care of each and every need anyone attending may have.

We were fortunate to have very qualified individuals to judge the event this year. Ray Brown who is currently the NBHA National Treasurer came up from Dothan, AL and judged all three events along with Lavon King of Rockmart, GA who rode along side Ray and judged the Amateur Shooting Dog stake and then we had Chelsie Conroy up from Leesburg,GA who along with Ray judged the Open Derby and Shooting Dog stakes. All decisions were rendered with much attention and deliberation, and were well received. the weather proved to remain cooler for a little longer than forecasted and couple times sleet could be heard bouncing off caps and other solid surfaces. The temps eventually warmed more and made for a beautiful day afield.
