NBHA National Amatuer Shooting Dog Championship
2009 National Amateur Champion Wild Covey Heatwave. Owned by Jason Kemna and Tony King with Tony handling. Henry had an electrifying performance in the initial series, burning up the course, and having 5 well spaced finds. In the finals, he ran an equally exciting hour with 5 finds and made the decision easy on Judges Chuck Davis and Les Neer.
Runner Up Champion was Penrosa Knox owned and handled by Tim Penn. Knox is a multiple National Runner Up Champion and he showed why. He ran an easy, forward race and had multiple finds on both days, including a well executed relocation on a wild covey to finish the final hour.
The trial had participants from Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Illinois, and Alabama. Wild Covey Birdhunters and the North Missouri Field Trial Club hosted and did a fantastic job keeping things running smoothly. A lot of hard work went into making this Championship successful and the club members did an outstanding job.
