North Missouri Field Trial Club held its NBHA fall trial on September 22 at the Westfall Ranch near Browning, MO. With the forecast of rain, we still had a good attendance with all entries showing up to run. Rain moved in at starting time and it rained during the entire trial. We would like to thank the judges for their diligent hard work and giving their focus on each dog during the rain. Judges for the Amateur Shooting Dogs and Amateur Derby were Aaron McAfee of Clinton, IL and J.D. Waters of Mechanicsburg, IL. Judging in the Amateur Puppy were Aaron McAfee and Tim Penn of Edina, MO.

Amateur Shooting Dog stake 1st place winner was Craig’s Runin Roxie, PF; owned and handled by Craig Hiatt. “Roxie” secured her win with a nice forward race and five mannerly finds, all with class and style. Second place went to Glover’s Van Halen, SM; owned and handled by Jack Glover. “Van” finished with two good finds and a good race that notched him ahead of the third-place winner. Penrosa Hidncash, SM; owned and handled by Tim Penn. “Cash” forward race and one mannerly find and a back rewarded him with the third-place honors.

Amateur Derby winner was Glover’s Grits, SM; owned and handled by Jack Glover. “Grits” was fast and covered a lot of ground showing that he had the potential of becoming a class shooting dog, along with demonstrating his style on his bird work made him an easy choice.

Amateur Puppy stake first place winner with a good forward race that could reach for the edges was Mo’s Blazingstar, SM; owned and handled by Lindsey Wagner. Second place winner Mo’s Sweet Child, SM; owned and handled by Lindsey Wagner was very similar in his performance to that of the first-place winner. With good style moving through the field and showing plenty of heart our Third-place winner was Wild Afire, SF; owned and handled by Chuck Maxson.
