NBHA

Jeff Hardy

In the five year time span from 1990 to 1995, Jeff Hardy gave more to the NBHA that any other individual. His hard work and organization showed the potential that the NBHA had on a national level. Jeff took over
the late Elmer Brese after his untimely death and served as our National Secretary during this time frame. The dog numbers were growing greatly and Jeff had the responsibility of tabulating the points of the 10,000 dogs and handlers which competed in stakes each year. Jeff utilized his salary to upgrade our computer and to have a program written and took the NBHA into the electronic tabulation age. He compiled a set of statistics and a basic format which we still use today in tabulating dog of the year and handler of the year on a nationwide and statewide basis. Jeff loved to run dogs but often at a trial was so busy working that he didn't get the opportunity to compete as much as he would like. He served as the Trial Chairman/Ramrod for the National Open while he was Secretary and his attention to detail made sure that these events were well run. Jeff was an extremely hard worker who cared tremendously about making sure that the NBHA was successful. With his exceptional organizational skills, the organization flourished.
